ABOUT

Jen Gorman Actor

I’m a creative soul with a splash of textbook nerd. A wanderlust at heart, I've traveled the globe all while dancing, storytelling, and dreaming.

I love exploring different media, feeling just as comfortable in an opera house as on set.  I recently made my debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Clo-Clo in The Merry Widow (directed and choreographed by acclaimed Susan Stroman). I also performed to sold-out audiences of Show Boat at the Kennedy Center and Winspear Opera House (directed by Francesca Zambello and choreographed by Michele Lynch). Quickly thereafter, I filmed an online commercial in New York City for a national clothing brand.

I’ve had the honor of working with Broadway legend Ann Reinking, renowned director Anne Bogart, and numerous highly esteemed choreographers. During my time with Thodos Dance Chicago, I collaborated with Shayna Swanson (Founder and Director of Aloft Circus Arts) in the creation of an aerial silk solo, "travail", which I subsequently performed and toured throughout the country.  In addition, I’ve danced in numerous operas and feel humbled to have graced the stage with the greatest operatic artists of our time, including Plácido Domingo, Renee Fleming, and Deborah Voight.

I’m a passionate lifelong learner and will always continue to study under the expert tutelage of the world’s finest acting, singing, and dancing teachers. I studied accounting and nonprofit management at the University of Notre Dame, graduating summa cum laude. I also possess a deep interest in the human body, scoliosis, and inspiring people to live healthier, happier lives.  I am the founder of Wellness in Motion LLC.
